Killington, Vt Ski Trip - Day 1

From the top of K-1 Gondola.

Nothing like seeing the great state of Vermont again.  I started going to Vermont to ski two years ago with three buddies from school and from back home that I knew. That group grew to ten of us that drove up the ten hours from Greensburg, Pa to Killington, Vt. for four days of skiing and a week of fun in the green state. Only problem was the lack of snow.  Just take a look of what we saw the entire drive up, no snow until we arrived in our condo parking lot.

Temperature was between 30 and 40 degrees the whole way up, but the sun being out made for a nice drive, but we would have rather seen blizzard like conditions.

We spent the first night in these really nice condos that a buddy of my roommate up at school hooked us up with and we were ecstatic when we saw our living quarters. Take a look:

The nicest aspect of the condo was the trail that led to and from the slopes.

We had a great visibility day and could see for miles from the summit.  The highest we got was 4200' or so that we estimated and it was a breathtaking view from the top.  Here are the best of the day I was able to get with my Pentax WG-1:

This is me at the top.  The sun was hitting the mountain just right.

Here is Bob at the top.  We have been going to Vermont for the past three years.  Check out the video of him at the bottom.

This is the top of the K-1 Gondola.  Killington has two gondolas but the other one (skyship) was not running this week.

The last three were from the top of the K-1 lift.  It was a fantastic day.

The skiing was not as good as years passed, but we were not complaining.  It was still better than anything we would have seen back home at seven springs.  We are still praying for some fresh powder to wake up to tomorrow morning, but the scenery is amazing in itself.
